Youth Olympic Games 2010, Singapore
Wednesday, December 2, 2009 @ 5:31 PM
Having successfully organised and held the 1st Asian Youth Games in 2009, Singapore would once again be catching the World's attention in 2010.
THE 1ST EVER SUMMER YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES
(14th - 26th August 2010)
" A picture speaks a thousand words". So here is a quick video to provide some details on the host country, Singapore and the various sporting events/ venues.
The vision of the YOG is to inspire young people around the world to participate in sport and adopt and live by the Olympic values. I feel that Singapore have played her part in fulfilling the vision by the construction of her 1st Singapore Sports School in 2004. The school aimed to provide the best academic and sports facilities for youth who aspires to be an athlete. The school would also hold some of the events during the games.
By hosting these games, people all over the world would be able to visit to watch the games lives. In the process, they would also be able to learn more about the cultures and practices of Singapore. It is indeed "killing two birds with one stone."
In addition, through these games, our very own young athlete can interact and exchange pointers from the World's best. This would no doubt, improve our sportsman future in the area of sports.
If you are a sports fanatic, what are you waiting for? Come on down next August, meet Lyo and Merly and feel the adrenaline rush LIVE.
