If you are a basketball fanatics, these should not be unfamiliar to you. They are the top NBA players in the world currently. Being in Singapore would not allow you to watch the NBA live in action. But fear not.. Cause....

ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) is here.

Basketball is the second largest sports in the world and it is starting to catch up in the Asia region. With the ABL just been launched on 1st October 2009, the league currently consists of teams from Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, and of course, Singapore. The teams would play in a home and away league format and ending with a playoff for the top 4 teams.


With 11 games into the season, the Singapore Slingers is behind leader Philippine Patriots by just 4 points with a game yet to play. In addition, the highlight of this season's Slingers are the inclusion of more local players. This would make us have a sense of related-ness to the Slingers as they are, indeed, a Singapore team represented by Singapore players.

So come on down and support the Singapore Slingers if you are in town during the league period from October to February every year. Even if you are not a hoop fan, you can still come on down to watch a game of hoops. You might actually fall in love with the game. =)
